Why Solar Powered ???

Water pumping in the conventional method is done by running a motor on a Single Phase or a 3-Phase alternating current.(AC). This is dependent on various factors with having uninterrupted power supply as a major one. In India, leaving the metros and major cities, rest of the country faces a lot of power crunch. The power is not supplied for hours together in some areas, there is no power in the day time in some other areas & last but not the least, there are few areas where there is no supply line to facilitate power supply at all.

Solar powered water pumping can be a boon to such places, where there is no power in the day. In our country the average number of Sun hours is close to 10 hours per day. Assuming all the variable climatic factors that cannot be predicted, we can still consider that the number of Sun hours is 6 in a day.

Considering the yeild of water to be reasonabily good, the number of Sun hours as expected, by adapting to these pumps, one can easliy have an output of atleast 15000 ltrs* per day and can go upto as high as 50,000 ltrs per day.

* Quantity of water output depends on factors like Number of Sun hours, Motor capacity, Depth of the well, Ground water yeild & Wattage of PV panels used.
